i have a 15 inch crt monitor but the resolution will only go up to 800x600 without screwing up my graphics chip supports up to 1920x1440.

Yes.. right click on the open area of your monitor and go to settings and you can change it that way... the old 800 X 600 just does not fit anymore.. that was based originally on a SQUARE window and many of the documents nowadays requires a larger setting as you are wanting to do.

My monitor says 1024 x 768, but it will go higher. I don't make a habit of going any higher, because I can't see the print.
If you are game for some experimentation, if you have Win XP SP2, set it for 1024 x 768 and click "apply". do not click OK. If the screen goes blank, it will not support that resolution, and a few seconds later it will revert to what you had it set on. If it doesn't, start you computer in safe mode, reset it and restart.
If 800 x 600 is all it will do, there is no recourse except to purchase one that will.

The limiting factor here is the monitor; cheaper ones support lower resolutions. The only way to use higher resolutions is to purchase a new monitor. 15" is quite small these days anyway.

first install the drive that comes with the AGP card. right click on desktop->>settings->>u';ll see a slide bar with caption "screen resoulation". Just drag this slider at the right position. click ok. U'll get the maximuk resoulaton supported by ur monitor.
