Sort of a toss-up.
I'm more of a comedy lover myself (the dumber, the better! [Ever seen "Monty Python & the Holy Grail"? LOL! I freakin' love it, man!])
But I also really liked "Gladiator" as a good break-down-&-sob sort of movie.
I cried! Yes, It's true, I really CRIED!

The best movie of all time is Citizen Kane by Orson Welles.
Citizen Kane is a 1941 mystery/drama film released by RKO Pictures. It was the first feature film directed by Orson Welles, who had previously directed two short films. It is widely considered to be a masterpiece by critics and viewers alike, and is often cited as being one of the greatest and most innovative works in the history of film; it has often been called "the greatest film ever made". It is the story of Charles Foster Kane, a man whose fight for power in the publishing world transformed from sheer thrill-seeking to ruthless war, and how his life affected everyone in his orbit. The storyline follows a reporter seeking to find what Kane meant by his dying word: "Rosebud."

That's a really difficult question. I am an avid movie renter. I watch a lot of movies, in all genres. I love classic musicals and westerns. Scary and gory, action and dramas. "Apocalypse Now" and "The Money Pit" are two of my favs. "Tombstone" is a great one. Fred Astaire, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby movies. I can't say I have one fav.

I like almost every movie i see, some of them i dont like for different reasons...for example, i like napoleon dynamite but there is no point to it and it has a bad ending so i like a lot of other movies than it for that reason, i like- star wars, Lord of the Rings, Lords of dogtown, Patch Adams, The Lion King(it was the first movie i saw, i only like for that reason), Forest Gump, and The benchwarmers.

In no order:
-Gone With the Wind
(yes, I'm black and I LOVE Scarlett O'Hara...."as God as my Witness!")
-The Joy Luck Club (it changed my life and how I see myself as a woman)
-The Shawshank Redemption (if you've ever struggled in life--you will love that film--one of the greatest of all times)
-Adventures in Babysitting (100% pure fun--please rent it)
-The Color Purple (...."I loves Harpo, lawd knows I do...But I'll Kill Him Dead before I let him beat me!")
Good Question and Peace! :)
