I think teen pregnancy is getting out of hand in the US. I was wondering what you think about my question . I was thinking it should be taught in Middle School because I have heard of 13 and 14 year olds getting pregnant. I think this would be benifical because people to be aware of Sexually transmitted deseases.
What do you think?

Yes it should be although ultimately it should be the parents responsibility to teach their kids about sex ed.

It depends on how it is done. It may even make the problem worse by getting the kids to talk about sex more than they would otherwise but done correctly with no graphic material, it could help.

I taught 2 year in a town called Maunabo which has the highest teen-pregnancy rate in PR. I can tell you some stories about those young ladies!

Well I personally know kids that have gotten pregnant in 9th grade I knew a girl that was pregnant it is getting a little out of hand but you can't really stop kids from doing the do unless the parents really crack down and have limits to where they go and who they spend time with etc. and yeah the pictures scared me the STD pictures ....nightmares people nightmares but I'm not sexually active and I don't plan to be now

Yes, it's necessary to educate the youth of America !!! Too much pregnancy & disease is happening for parents to be taking an active roll in informing their children of safe sex practices & abstinence. Teaching children in school will better prepare them for the real world...even if their parents aren't ready or aren't sure how to broach the subject.

OMG yes it should! the religious people don't want this to happen, but it is a sad fact that 13 year olds have sex. they should be educated about it, it will not promote any more experimentation than they are already doing. it'd be great if kids would wait, but many don't and they need to understand what they are getting into

Absolutely...when sex ed is taught now they only teach abstinence. we need to equip our teens with the best information about all of their options! It is getting ridiculously out of hand!

If you check out the questions that some people post on this site you will realize the importance of sex ed!
