If you enjoy working with your hands, or make, paint, sew, mold, sculpt, hone, knit, paint, assemble, thread, glue Or maybe, you are already making arts and crafts as a hobby and would like to turn into a business than try:
http://www.waho-biz.com/assemblyjobs.html
I've bought their work at home assembly jobs directory a year ago, and it was really a nice list of more than 900+ companies as they told and currently they have 1,200+ assembly companies. The directory is worth what you pay! I would highly recommend them.
I'm personally involved doing home assembly jobs with over 20 companies and they pay real good. Try it out!!

Check out the Small Business Administration Home Business Hotlist - http://www.sba.gov/hotlist/home.html...
"Want to "be your own boss," "work from home," or just "make extra money"? Then you may be tempted by an ad for a business opportunity. Before you open your checkbook, check out the offer. Fraudulent business opportunity promoters use the classifieds and the Internet to tout all kinds of offers, from pay phone and vending machine routes to work-at-home businesses like medical billing and envelope stuffing. Too often, these ads make promises - about earnings, locations, merchandise, or marketability - that sound great, but aren't truthful. The result: consumers are getting ripped off, losing money instead of making it." http://www.ftc.gov/bizopps/

There are a lot of people in similar situations as yours making money on the net. I started out making money from selling on eBay. It's so easy to do, you just need to do it. Find some things around your house that you no longer need and try listing them.
Your other options are affiliate marketing (selling other peoples products) or create your own product and sell it. Are you an expert in something? Write about it, turn it into an eBook and sell it thru ClickBank.

Here are a few free to join opportunities. I have been paid by all of them. You don't earn alot, but it's
free. The first two I earn about $15 per month each. The other 2 about $7 or $8.

I used these programs to save up enough money to get involved in paid opportunities. Here is a paid
opportunity that is doing very well for me. http://jsnapp.prowealthresults.com/?SOURCE=ans

Lots of them, but they were started by their owners.
If you want to work for an honest online business, start one. The money up-front is so minimal you could mow a lawn or babysit one time to have enough to get started.
