My contractions are about 10 minutes apart but my doctor told me to wait until they are five minutes apart before going to the hospital...how long does it take or could it take before they are close enough together?

Labor is different for every woman but I suggest just relaxing and try to rest as much as you can now because this will be the last time you can in a long while. It will happen when it happens. Having a baby is the most beautiful thing the the world. Good luck and God Bless!

first time labor usualy last 24 hrs or so. My son i went in labor on the 3rd went to the hospital on the 4th and had him the next morning on the 5th. Go when you feel like you are ready. Every women is different.

It all depends on you and your baby. I was in labor for 3 days, on the third day they induced me at 11 pm and didnt deliver untill 5:05 am.. but if it takes to long you might want to go to the Hospital b/c the baby could be in trouble, like my little girls heartbeat started to tak dips everynow and again.

It's different for every woman. My friends daughter just had a baby, and she was in labor about 14 hours. I was only in labor about 2 hours. They usually say it's longer for the first one, but, like I said, everybody's different.

I agree every pregnancy is different, but don't trust your Dr. trust your own feelings. He doesn't feel what you feel. Hell, he's (if it's a he) has never had a contraction. If this is your first you have nothing to compare it to. 5 minutes is good....

eVERY WOMEN IS DIFFERENT. Go in when you feel that you need too. You could also call your doctor too and talk with him..

well anywere from an hour to 30 hours.it depends on how far your dialated
