There are subtitles, the character's words are translated. It's not narrated. Excellent movie!! Very raw, and suspenseful. I also recommend Y tu Mama Tambien (Your mother too) and El Crimen del Padre Amador (The crime of father amador) Gael Garcia is an excellent actor.
