Are you interested in publishing with a traditional publishing house, where your books can appear in bookstores, or would you more prefer to just have copies available for friends and family?

For a guide to traditional publishers, check out the book Writer's Market. It is a valuable resource, as it lists and incredible number of publishers for every kind of writing. They also have a book called the Guide to Literary Agents. Many publishers will not look at unsolicited manuscripts, so having an agent can be the only way to get in the door.

To create something for your family, check out www.lulu.com. It's a great self-publishing site that I think is excellent for projects like this. You can create a good quality product without jumping through the hoops of a traditional publisher, and leave a lasting memory for your family. This will not land your books in bookstores, but that doesn't seem to be your main concern.

Happy writing!

Virtually all community colleges and many senior centers offer classes to learn to write ones autobiography. Find them on the internet using the key words "publish" "autobiography" "learn" "write," etc.
This would be self published on the internet and made available to all in the family. There are also books on the subject, ask a research librarian at your local library. This is becoming a very popular avocation for seniors.
Now, if you were the secret lover of Marlon Brando and you wished to write a tell-all autobiography, just say so and the publishers will come to you.

There are two ways to publish a book sir. 1) Hire a literary agent to read and market your book to publishers. 2) Pay to have it published. Recommend Author House in Bloomington, Indiana for that.

You the two ought to document something detrimental you assert approximately others (no longer interior the tale, basically keep it 'in case') or you should get a written launch from every person you write approximately.
