As the first person said, for the line, two.

However, for the ray, since the ray only goes in one direction from point A, there is only one point which is on the circle you drew.

Use a compass to measure out three centimeters. Next, put the compass on point A and make a complete circle. How many places does this circle intersect with the line? Twice.
