I would try to help.
But that's a good question. They just had a show about 9/11 on the other night and that happened in one of the towers. Two guys were helping another guy down the stairs who could not walk very well. Firemen went past them (going up) and told them the building would collapse, and they should run. One ran ahead and survived, and was interviewed in the show. The other stayed behind to help, and died with the guy who couldn't walk well. They asked the guy who survived about this, and he said he was not proud of what he had done, but it came down to his life or the life of the guy who could not walk.

To be honest, it depends on the situation. It depends on who it is. If it is someone that I love or at least care about a lot, then of course I would risk my life. For my daughter, I would trade my life without hesitation. If it were my ex-wife, I would do my best and even risk my life, but I sure wouldn't willingly die for her. And yes, by the way, my ex-wife is killing me with child support, but still she is the mother of my child.
If it were a close friend or family member, I think I would do my best, but I would not want to die for them. Again, this depends on the situation and I hear that in some situations people often react to save their loved ones and friends without regard to their own life.
If it were for a stranger, I would like to say I would be heroic and jump in there to save a life, but I might be chicken and just pray for that person. After all, I have a child who needs me and since she comes first in my life, I can't risk my own life even to save someone else and become a hero. I want to be my daughter's hero and to do that, I have to live.
I

Hope I can think fast, come up with a solution that doesn't leave my own daughter without her mother. For a child, I wouldn't hesitate to help but I'd hope I'd have at least a second to determine the best available options.

Personally i have a low self-esteem level. So I value all other life's before my own. I would help. So what about me. My role in the universe is short and plain. So yes i would save the person.

I would do what I could do to help. You say I get into trouble too...but they would not get out alive w/o my help. I'd call a cop, scream, or if that wasn't possible then I would have to come to their aid.

I like to think I would save that person, but unless I were in that situation I have no idea how I would truly react.

I am almost sure I would, but to be brutally honest, I don't think any of us know for sure until we find ourselves in such a situation.
