We have owned a 2001 Galant and currently own a 2004 Galant and have had no problems. A friend of mine has a 2001, and still no issues with 101,000 miles.

Mitsu has the 5 year, 60K miles bumper to bumper warranty, the 100K powertrain (engine and transmission) and the dealers have been friendly (at least in my experience).

The only downside is that they don't hold their value too well.....so make sure you like it before you buy it.

Yes, but just remember that if something does go wrong, you'll be limited on who can fix it since the majority of the local shops are used to dealing with American cars. If you live in a bigger city which has a dealer, you'll be okay though.

perhaps. But their sales have plummeted mostly due to marketing, and I have heard that the car maker is considering
leaving the US market.
