I thought Puerto Ricans were US citizens which means you are an American and not Mexican or Colombian. Is your question more like "help with a gringa"?

Depends, does she know Spanish (I'm assuming you speak spanish, but if not the language you do speak) and how did you guys meet? If you really care about her, commit yourself to being able to communicate with her, so she can fully understand your love and affection for her, but if you just think that she's good looking, move on and forget about her, a pretty face isn't worth all the time and commitment you'll need to put into this.

Is there a possibility she speaks Spanish? Have you tried a website like http://www.freetranslation.com/? What about writing here a letter and telling her about the language problem. The local library might have someone who can help you. Of course, who can resist a few cuba libres and a night of Perreo...

Give it a shot. With the language barrier, as well as the distance, I don't think you should expect too much to come of this. Sorry to say that to you. It's worth giving it a shot though right? Better that than always wondering if it would have worked.

If you're shorter than her forget it.
If you're taller, maybe you got a shot. Gonna be pretty damned hard though if you can't communicate easily.

Is she in the same class as you ? You can write to her in a simple note telling her you would like as a friend but do not expect too much from her as expectations may hurt you when you do not get it... start of as a friend tell her how you think about her....
