It can make you strong if you do it with genuine compassion in your heart and a desire for the other person to not continue feeling badly for what they did to you. If they really hurt you in some way that went so deep inside you that you didn't think you'd ever recover, and you still found yourself able to forgive, then you're a strong person.

However, if you constantly forgive someone for hurting you over and over to the point it becomes abusive on their part, then you're not only weak, but a pushover. That would seem like you're doing it to curry favor with those that continually hurt you. You want to be liked/loved at all costs--even to your dignity.

Forgiving is the act of a charitable soul who can look beyond the person and the deed.

Forgiving is a powerful CHOICE, often interpreted as a sign of weakness. But what you're saying is that you aren't going to let thinking about a person or an event have dominion over you anymore.

But forgiving is only a matter of letting a single incident go. Forgetting is another action entirely. Even if you forgive, you probably won't ever feel the same way about the person who wronged you. And that's normal.

Why would it make you a weak person? Forgiving is the way God intended humans to be. Being able to forgive a person means you are a better person. Holding a grudge or getting even is not only childish, it is a weakness. If you are forgiving, be proud.

Forgiving would make you a GOOD person. But I think you have to already BE strong to forgive someone. It's not an easy task sometimes, but it's the right thing to do.

Forgiveness is good for the soul and makes you a stronger person. You may not forget , but forgiving the person frees you up from hatred and revenge thoughts most people have. You put the person's fate in someone else's hands other than your's so you can go on with your life.

Strong, it shows that you are willing to not stoop to a low level or lower, like the person you are forgiving did. As My late father said "Take the highroad not the low road" do you want to be looked at as someone that looks for revenge? Or would you like the satisfaction to forgive and forget by letting it blow over your shoulder. please "take the High road." Best regards hope you find this very useful I have in personal and business life.

It makes you a strong and compassionate person. Being able to truly forgive is forgetting all of the hatred you harboured in your heart, and putting it in the past. That is hard, thus, makes you a stronger person and a compassionate one.

Forgiveness along with caution makes you a stronger person. Doormats are not strong.
