It will still work, but your SWR's will rise a little, but with a 102", I don't think it will be that big a deal, as long as the driver in the radio is solid.
The whip is stainless, and flexes a great deal. Don't be surprised if the Powder Coat begins to deteriorate in spots. It is still a coating. It is just applied with a different process.

Nope. as soon as it flexes, the paint will flake right off. Find someone who can anondize it for you.
