Yes, I switched to an ergonomic keyboard and mouse. They will help you to avoid carpel tunnel and other injuries by keeping your hands in a more natural position when on the computer. Microsoft makes some good ones and they're available at most computer stores.

Go out and swing a sledge hammer at a pile of rocks for half an hour every day and I bet it would go away.
I used to get a tingling and stabbing needles in my right wrist whenever i sat down at the computer until finally I started doing some physical work on the side. Within a very short period of time the problem went away. I am utterly amazed that some people think the only solution to this is (1) painkillers or (2) surgery.

my hands do this sometimes and usually it is caused by them resting on the edge of the desk to where it leaves an indentation on my wrists. Watch and see if this is what is happening to you, also getting an orgonomic keyboard can also help. They also have these little gel pads that sit at the edge of the keyboard that your wrists can rest on i have found this very helpful

somtimes my hand does get numb when on the computer i know why my hands go numb ihave cardiomyopathyheart disease), you should let your dr know and see what he says

Yes, you need to have it checked by a doctor. You probably have "carpal tunnel", I have it.

that's bad. that's carpal tunnel. you have to get surgery to get it fixed. my mom had it in both hands.
