Why do they call penalties against players that grab other players with long hair?

do they just grow it out so that people that do grab it get introuble for it or what?

i don't see it as part of the uniforms....

but is it really fair to the other players that if they just touch the hair its an auto foul?! i mean come on...get a freaking hair cut or make them put it up

I say if they are stupid enough to grow their hair that long and not tuck it under it is fair game.. come on get real you leave it hanging out you asked for it. and i think they should be penalized for putting themselves in a position to get hurt that way

Because it could cause an injury. When tackling a player you are allowed to grab any part of the player you can to bring him down. The only restrictions are is that you may not use any part of his helmet including his face mask to bring him done and you may not grab his hair. Football is a dangerous enough sport without having to add to the injuries by grabbing the hair or face mask.

Come on now...I get so sick of people askin silly questions...imagine yourself runnin full speed with a ball..and some jerk grabs you by your hair.
Not only would you stand a good chance of losin a big plug of hair, the potential for a serious neck injury is also prevalent. And that type of penalty is an automatic 1st down, plus 15 yards. Unsportsmanlike Conduct, also a possible fine, and along with an official league reprimand.

Your hair is apart of the uniform. Be like Ricky, Benson, Ejames and cut it. If you dont want your girly long hair pulled out then corn roll it. Im tired of people complaining of hair pullers eetc its football not pole dancing.
