Anyone has the right to sit during the National Anthem, but if you respect what it means and the sacrifices made and that are being made, you should stand. Just think that when the Anthem is playing, a soldier is probably under fire at that same moment.

Obviously, anyone can say sitting. However, I believe it is very disrespectful to remain sitting while the anthem is being sung. Even if you don't believe in the words, it is courtesy to stand up!!!!

I don't know if you are asking a hypothetical can ANYONE sit down, in which case yes, elderly people in a wheel chair, or just disabled people in general.
As for me, I wouldn't do it since it's like farting in a quiet room, it's awkward and people get angry. I'd do it for money though.

Most of the time the musicians are sitting, especially if it's an orchestra.
People who are not Americans may sit, I think.
