No, with syrian hamsters, once they hit maturity they will fight. (goldens, panda bears, teddy bears, ect. All are syrian hamsters just have different color varietys and fur lengths.)

Dwarf hamsters dont mind being housed together tho. I have siberian dwarf hamsters housed together just fine. Desert dwarf hamsters also get along fine with other desert dwarfs too. You cant mix different species either.

Most pets from the pet store are young, so they can be in the same cage. But at a certain point they have to have there own cage. They are very dominent animals and like there space and there own things. Sometimes u will get the lucky ones that get along together. Where sometimes u might end up with a boy and girl and have babies. If u are thinking about it I would put them in seperate cages unless u are going to watch them at all times. Or u will end up with a dead hamster

You can try. I had two sisters, obviously from the same "cage". They eventually did fight for a day or two, then they got their territories straightened out and were buds. Make sure you have enough room, toys, nests, whatever for each to have their own area. I have one of those critter trail cages, and one built her nest in the lookout area, the other in the tube thing.
Also, make absolutely sure you get same sexes so you don't end up trying to get rid of 12+ hamsters!!

Not if they are Syrian hamsters. Dwarves can be kept together, but only in same sex pairs. They breed very fast if kept in together in mixed sex pairs.

Syrian hamsters (also called golden hamsters or teddy bear hamsters) are solitary creatures. They are raised together for the first few weeks, but they will fight if left together, and the fighting will last until one is dead.

Avoid leaving two syrians in together at all costs. Dwarves are your best bet if you want two hamsters in together.

Just because they are in the same cage means nothing. As we get them in, we put the similar hamsters into the same cage. We get plenty of fighters and injured hamsters (which you never see). Just because two people are in the same room doesn't mean they get along. :)

i would have thought so. if they are in the some cage at the pet shop then they shouldn't fight. just make sure they ARE the same sex as i made that mistack and started with 2 and ended up with 8 hampsters.

No they will start to attack each other after about the age of 10 weeks. Hamsters live in solitary in the wild.

not if they r syrian. they must be separated at 1 mth by sex so there arent babies and then by 3 mths they have to all be separated or they will fight, sometimes to death. if they r dwarfs and from the same litter most likely they will get along---same sex pairs of course! dwarfs prefer company but its not a guarantee they wont fight. u just have to watch them & separate them if it doesnt work out. usually the ones at pet stores arent quite at the fighting age yet.

As long as you get two out of the same cage. If you get two from different cages they are more likely to fight.
