I am a retired 47y/o paramedic embarking on a career in technology. Completed one semester in Computer/Software Support Specialist with a 3.68 GPA. Everyone advises me to enter their program ie: webmaster, networking, programming, computer repair. I may only have a shot at 2 years of college so I want to make it count. I want to easily find employment, know enough to operate my own business if necessary, I like hands-on things but also am intriegued by design, e-commerce. My math skills are average but I am above average in comprehension/reading. What would you suggest?

I'm 58 and started over 4 years ago in Computer Forensics. If you're in a large metropolitian area(Dallas, New York, Atlanta, etc) you can expect to charge $150 to 500 per hour, depending on your certifications. It can easily take 2-4 years for your business to build up; or you can go to work for any number of large corporations that have their own in house forensics departments. I started with networking and then went into forensics. You really need to know the operating system, primarily windows, and don't mind sitting in a small room for hours reviewing recovered documents, computer settings and nasty e-mail (keep thinking what they are paying you) There are also alot of law enforcement opportunities. And it's not rocket science, just a very good understanding of how the OS, applications, and hardware interact. Take a look at Southeast Cybercrime Institute. Programming is math intensive and repairmen are a dime a dozen. Good Luck

Webmaster and/or networking.

Programming takes a lot of logic and math skills as well as computer repair while webmaster and networking don't take so much.

thank you for the 10 points to the similar question:

however, you said I did not explain if this would effect you in the future or what you should do to make this work out in your favor.

I wish you would take me up on my offer to email me and I can try to help you get these parts of your questions answered.

The answers are obviously effected by your personality and eagerness to change directions. A few emails would help - I can explain to you my experiences from a little of all the areas you described.

You'd start to get the feel for the pros and cons in relation to your life.

come on - let's talk :)

i could propose seeing an agent! at the start, the attitude, sounds all incorrect to me. i could take it as a comedy habitual, no longer as a rapper. I doubt she would manage to be taken heavily. actual the assets you have published, is actual humorous. i could inspire you to examine the comedic attitude, no longer the rapper attitude. yet as far with the aid of fact the violence deal, if she is conscious you're irritating and does not care... dude, hate to assert it, yet there are deeper themes in touch.
