My daughter cleaned out her room and wants to get rid of some of her toys. I would really like to see these toys get put to good use, rather than just throw them away.

Take them to Goodwill. See this page for a list of Philadelphia area Goodwill locations:
http://locator.goodwill.org/RTStoreList_page.asp?searchcate=schuszip&ServiceType=rst&UserZip=19107

Goodwill sells these items in stores. They use the money to help people find jobs. So not only do the toys get a second life with people who may not be able to afford full priced toys, but you help out other people who really want to work.

These Goodwill locations will unload your car and give you a receipt which you can use for a tax deduction.

Just take them to the Salvation Army. There are tons of second hand stores in Philly. I'm not sure where you live, but there is a very nice Salvation Army on the corner of 22nd and Market.

Take them to the Salvation Army or any shelter. The kids in those places could really use some cheering up.

Donate them to an Abused Womans Shelter. There are always children there.
