Some high schools offer "vet tech" programs. Check with your local school board to see if any are available in your area. If they are not available focus on perfecting your skills in math (prealgebra algebra, statistics) and science (biology, zoology, anatomy, chemistry) classes.

Biology for sure and sciences are a great start to prepare for the program. Volunteer work with the local zoo can also be a great opportunity also outside the classroom because it is hands on experience.

Well, what I would do would be to take classes that emphasize science, and, I think that it wouldn't hurt to take a few extra math classes. I had a teacher who taught anatomy, and in the last 6 weeks, they dissected cats. So, if I was you, I might see if I can find out more about this anatomy class, if you high school has it. That's what I'd do. Good luck!!!
