What software is available to enable me to permanently destroy all personal data/files that I deleted in my computer without compromising other files/programs?

There is a program called Eraser that will do what BC Wipe will do, but it is completely free.

think the best option is to smash the drive and throw it away. Any serious persons who want to tap it will probably be able to get some experts to recover the data, even if u format it.

There are applications that can do such things. I think Norton has a utility that will completely shred a file. Google it.

BC WIpe. It will let you wipe the FREESPACE that is no longer in use including deleted files. if you use the military wipe option.
(takes forever) only God can get your files back.
