It depends on how the trojan horse virus you obtained works.
Viruses work differently depending on how they were made. Some are just processes that cannot be stopped while others attach themselfs to existing processes or programs. Some even embed themself into the operating system or some kind of code that is in a program that is necessary to run.
Click the link in the source to obtain a program that will tell you more information on the virus you obtained. Then go to any forum or sort to ask for information specifically on it.

Some of them are VERY difficult to get rid of.
in order for your virus program to get rid of some. you have to reboot your computer in the SAFE mode.
if I rember right pressing the F8 key when the computer is just starting windows will do that. It will ask you to select safe mode.
After your up and running in the safe mode, run your antivirus
program again and then delete the file....

hi, perhaps you can try norton to remove the virus and protect your PC. but you need to pay for that.
i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
download firefox for free:

I've been told that there is a certain site that actually will fix the trojan virus for free. Let me surf the net real quick to see if I can find it. http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/trojans.php?ref=ov_us&ovmkt=57IR54CHCE4KDVUI0NQAVIGM1G&OVRAW=trojan%20horse%20removal&OVKEY=trojan%20horse%20removal&OVMTC=standard should work. Or you can try this http://www.defenza.com/v2/en/index.asp?PID=4bb3426f-f16e-4b23-b46b-02de1645bd81
