I had some blood taken when I found out I was pregnant. I had a miscarriage though and my doc didn't say anything about the blood tests when I was there twice last week so she must have just gotten it back. She called me Friday and left a message to call her about my test results. I keep stressting that it's the worst like HIV or something even though she said it wasn't urgent that I call her back. I had a HIV test about a year ago but I keep thinking maybe I didn't wait long enough. It was about 2 months after I broke up with an ex who was an IV drug user and about month after I started having sex with my current boyfriend.
Anyway, what could she possibly have to tell me now that isn't bad news?

I actually had the blood work done before I miscarried. I, like a lot of you, have never received a call from an OB/GYN before and have always been under the impression that no news is good news. When I got tested for all STDS about a year ago they did give me all the results over the phone.

Well, I'm pretty sure they can't test for HIV without your approval, so I wouldn't stress over that so much. As for needing to return her phone call, she probably just wants to go over the results with you...something they're required to do. Just try your best to relax, and give her office a call first thing Monday morning. I'm sure you'll be okay hun *hugs*
Good luck!

They have to let you know that they are testing you for HIV. They will probably be evaluating your HCG levels, to see if your body no longer thinks it is pregnant. I had a friend, who three months after her miscarriage still had the pregnancy hormone. They probably want you to come back in for more blood work until they get that level down to normal. Plus, they wouldn't give your HIV results over the phone, I don't think it is legal.

Its just an OB pannel. They check for things like hormone levels, anemia, most STD's, your general health and blood type.
If she said not to worry and it wasnt urgent then she's probably just calling you with your hormone results, or to make sure you're on a prenatal to avoid a lack of iron.
I wouldnt worry about it. She would most likely have asked you to call right away if you had a major STD.

They test for STD's and HIV. They also test your CBC (Complete Blood Count). You may be anemic which is easily fixed. Or you could have some sort of none STD infection which would also be easily fixed.
Good Luck. I hope it's not too bad and it's easily taken care of.

If you had a miscarriage after you got the blood work done, she was probably calling to tell you that there wasn't much of the pregnancy horomone in your system and she needs to retest you.
Just a guess....

Your doc may just be calling you to tell you that everything came back normal. Prior to having my OB I never had a doc call and say everything was ok, they always said if you don't here from me everything is normal, but my OB called me left a message, turned out he was just calling to say everything was fine.

Number 1 don't stress! The doctor's office left me a similar message once..and it was scary thinking something was wrong (natural instincts) but it was not bad, I needed to go in for an ultrasound my hgc/hgg? level was elevated and they thought I could be farther along than expected, well to my surprise that next day I went in for that ultrasound and I was pregnant with TRIPLETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
