What the hell does how he acted in the first part of the season have anything to do with where he ended up in points? He is 11th in points right now and didn't make the chase because he hasn't been running consistent enough through out the season. Look at this way, he can be number one among everyone else who couldn't cut it this year.

Not at all. Tony absolutely shouldn't be punished that way. Are you forgetting all the other drivers that have caused trouble in the past? Tony is just stuck in a rough season...and I'm sorry for him but proud of him, as well. He's handling himself great and he'll be fine in up-coming race events.

No if that was the case Jeff Gordon would be out as well.Cut the guy some slack he hasn't had a typical Tony Stewart year bit has struggled instead.I'm sure this will lead to renewed determination for himself and his whole team,I'd bet this is a bad omen for his competition next year.

i dont think its justice for tony to be out because of what happened earlier this year, but because of how he always acts. he may be a good driver but he has a terrible temper problem, even tho it has been tamed some, he constantly gripes on how that the "new or young" guys act, but he often acts worse than they do.
there have been numerous incidents with anyone who is doing better in races or in the chase than he is and numerous incidents where he deliberately dumps a driver because he "thinks" that driver has something out for him or needs to be "taught" a lesson.

if tony's whining should in some twisted since of karma keep him out why the heck is jimmy and jeff in the chase. talk about whiners. what was jeff going on about teaching kyle busch a lesson all about last weekend. either i completely missed something or jeff was being his typical whinny self. nothing is EVER the 24 or 48 fault.
give me an ever lovin' break!!!!

Yes this is just what he deserves. I would like to see Junior out as well. He is a big fat ugly bully. He whines about people drive aggresively and then he wrecks anyone is is in front of him and blames it on them, because they would not let him pass. And it is not just this season, it is every season. Kasey Khane will take him out of the chase. And Kasey actually deserves to be there because he has won more races this season then any one else.

No, I think Tony is a great driver, although he does not know how to stay calm sometimes. By the way the race is not over yet. Right? Hopefully something good happens to allow Smoke to make it. Hope Junior wins the race or Kevin Harvick or Kasey.
Go Junior All the Way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, if this was so there are a few more would be in the same boat.Should Gordon be out because of the "fight" between him and Kenseth.Should Johnson be out because of his bumping incedent earlier this year. What about Martin and Burton neither have won this year should they be out?
This is racing, anything can and does happen.
