My sister is 18 and I have recently found out that she is urinating in the bed. Why wouldnt she just go to the bathroom? I'm afraid that maybe shes going crazy because schizophrenia runs in our family. Could she be going crazy? If not why would she pee in the bed? I asked her why she said she was scared to go to the bathroom. I didnt believe her so I asked her if anyone has done anything to her she keeps telling me no. I dont know why she keeps doing it. Its not only at night but she does it during the day to and then she hurries up and changes her panies and throws them in the washer. I guess she forgets about them so when I go to wash my clothes sometimes I open the washer up and I see and can smell her panies which have a strong stench of urine. I told my mom to talk to her but my momm doesnt want to believe she is peeing in the bed. I told her maybe she needed councelling and my mom keeps dismissing it. Her room reeks of urine as well.

Sounds like she needs help. I would tell your Mom that she needs to find out why she is afraid and get involved that your are coming from a concerned and caring place.

It's an all around bad situation as I'm sure you no. I take it you're a younger sister? Or even if you were the 'older' sister you're not in a position of power where you can really force your sister to get help. She's 18 now and your mother doesn't seem to believe you. Or atleast she doesn't want to believe you. Were I you, I'd give it a bit more time without you confonting her about it. See if this is something she can get past on her own. If it continues after a good little bit of time, confront her about it and really get down to the bottom of why this is happening. Can't do much about it til you find the root of the problem. And it doesn't sound like anyone else is going to help her, so it's on you AFTER you give her a chance to help herself.

This is a real sensitive subject and probably embarrassing as well. I think you should allow your sister to say what is on her mind and maybe she will be able to open up to you. If not, bring your Mom and show her the bed, and launDry so hopefully your Mom can call a dr. It could be a physical probably or psychological problem---either way she needs help...I wish you luck!

I HAVE HEARD OF THIS BEHAVIOR IN BI-POLAR PEOPLE...BI-POLAR USUALLY STARTS AROUND THIS AGE. IF NOT, THEN MAYBE SHE HAS OVERACTIVE BLADDER, WHICH THEY HAVE MEDICATION FOR. BUT IF SHE'S SCARED, THEN IT HAS TO BE A MENTAL THING.

SINCE YOUR MOM IS IN DENAIL, CALL SOCAIL SERVICES AND GET SOMEONE TO COME OVER TO THE HOUSE, SHOW THEM HER ROOM, AND HAVE A VISIT WITH HER. THEY WILL BE ABLE TO TELL YOU MORE ABOUT ALL SORTS OF SERVICES AVAILABLE TO YOUR FAMILY.
MAKE NO MISTAKE, SHE IS THE "TARGET PATIENT" BUT IT IS THE WHOLE FAMILIE'S PROBLEM. SHE NEEDS INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING, AND YOU ALL NEED WHOLE FAMILY COUNSELING. YOU ALL NEED TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU COULD BE DOING UNINTENTIONALLY TO CONTRIBUTE TO HER BEHAVIORS. DON'T SINGLE HER OUT AND TRY TO FIX HER. DEAL WITH IT AS A FAMILY, AND GIVE HER SOME SUPPORT. YOUR MOM'S "HEAD IN THE SAND" TECHNIQUE WON'T HELP. YOUR MOM IS INDENIAL BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH IT.
YOU HAVE TO DECIDE THAT YOUR FAMILY NEEDS A HERO, AND YOU NEED TO TAKE THE INITIATIVE AND MAKE THAT CALL.

something is very wrong ,this is not normal ,I would tell her to see a doctor ,maybe she has a bladder problem but it is more likely that she has a mental illness or has been assaulted ,she needs help ,your mother should do something but as that's not happening ,a doctor is the best place to start ,but you cant do anything until your sister faces the fact that she has a problem.

Incontinence could be a sympton of another more serious physical ailment. She needs to come clean about it if she is doing it so she can have tests done to make sure there is not a more serious underlying cause.

YOU KNOW I HAVE BEEN AROUND BI POLAR SCHIZOPHRENIC PEOPLE AND NONE HAVE EVER PEE'D IN THE BED THEY JUST TALK TO THEM SELVES AND DO SOME REALLY ODD THINGS BUT I DONT THINK IT IS THAT. EITHER SHE IS SCARED TO GET UP BC SOMEONE HAS DONE SOMETHING TO HER OR BLADDER PROBLEM KEDNEY PROBLEMS BUT SHE WOULD HAVE TOLD SOMEONE IF SHE WAS HAVIN PROBLEM WITH HER BLADDER OR KIDNEY I WOULD THINK. SO IM NOT REALLY SURE WHAT MAKES HER DO THAT EXPEACIALLY AT THAT AGE MAYBE THERE IS SOMETHING ELSE. I WOULD KEEP TALKING TO YOUR MOM AND IF THAT DOESNT WORK GO TALK TO SOMEONE ELSE BC THAT CANCAUSE SERIOUS PROBLEMS

Maybe it isn't her being "crazy"... but maybe she has a medical problem... like and uncontrollable bladder... have her go to a doctor to rule that out at least...
