You might to check if the volume of Mic is enabled.
Check Control Panel > Sound & Audio Devices.

Check the Audio Tab and click on volume. Make sure the volume is up and enabled.

Connection wise check your cabling if you plug into the Microphone slot correctly. It usually has a logo that looks like a mike beside it.

Make sure the mic doesn't have a mute switch on the cord.

Maybe the circuit is open somewhere along that connection or faulty wiring
