You know when I was a total fu*k up in life I got treated a hell of a lot better that I do now. Why is that? You know people just take advantage of the good people in life. It's totally messed up. What is wrong with this world where you get rewarded for being an @ss!?

Girl you are SO RIGHT. People just do not appreciate good people, but we must Keep Doing Good Anyway.

Read this poem designed for good people like you and me. Type it up, print it out, and frame it for your wall:

People are unreasonable, illogical and self centered.

Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.

Do good anyway.

If you are successful you will win false friends and true enemies.

Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.

Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.

Be honest and frank anyway

People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.

Fight for some underdogs anyway

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight

Build anyway

People really need help but may attack you if you help them

Help people anyway

Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth

Give the world the best you've got

Anyway!

Mother Theresa

When you are a total ***** up and get rewarded it's because Satan wants it to be Great to do the wrong thing. Gods rewards are in Heaven. Why should you get rewarded for doing the right thing???What happens when the right thing comes with no rewards? What happens when the right thing to do causes your death??Then are you chose the right thing or our you going to go for the reward and do the ******-up thing? Morals and standards are not about rewards and punishment. It's about the right thing you naturally want to do if your a good person.

I think that a lot of people in the world are afraid of this very thing - thats why they can be so nasty. I suppose its in our nature - eventually people will take advantage of nice people, even without meaning it, because they know they will get away with it. the truth is nice guys finish last. The best thing to do is be nice but firm - treat people with respect the way you would like to be treated, but if anyone asks of you something that you would not ask from them, or if you feel that theyve overstepped the mark, then simply put your foot down and refuse - but again, do so with respect and politeness. I dont know if this helps, but its what i think, and it seems to work for me.

Girl, you are preachin' to the choir!!! Ask anyone who's the 'good kid' in their family. Ask anyone who's working their tail off and some slacker gets the promotion. I used to have this roommate who traded in her cheap little car the day it was to be repo'ed and came home with a brand new SUV!!!

I have lived briefly, and I have gathered more information through experience and friends, and I can honestly say it is totally f***ed up, you are so right!

The truth is I think that when you act right, people expect more of you, and when you're a mess, people want to fix it. Unless you believe in karma or heaven, or have an extreme sense of satisfaction in knowing how good you are---it just makes you all kinds of pissy.

It only *looks* like they're getting rewarded.

People can only walk all over you if you let them. It is possible to be a very nice person without letting people take advantage of you - because they will. But hopefully in time, those people will come around just like you did.

There is an old saying that sort of sums up this sentiment:

"NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED"

Sad, but true! Furthermore, it always seems like it's the TOTAL BITCHES who get all the good MEN - go figure!!!

Life ain't fair, and that's all there is to it. But don't let THAT stop you from continuing to do your best to be an honest and decent person. It hasn't stopped ME - and it WON'T, ever. Just beware, because a lot of unsavory characters will attempt to "cash in" on your good nature and generosity. It sometimes takes years of practice to find that balance between being cold & compassionless - and being a total "door-mat"!

If it seems that way you are being a good person for the wrong reasons, we don't do it to be rewarded but because it is the right thing to do.

You can be a good person and do the right thing, but still have a backbone - meaning you have to stand up for yourself. You don't have to be a bi*ch about it. Just make sure that while your being nice you don't let people walk all over you.

You do the right thing to live up to your own convictions and the crappy people will get there just rewards, sometimes it just takes a long time.
