Pride is a sin. What would Jesus do? What would Martin Luther King do? What would Gandhi Do? What would Buddha Do? What would Frederick Douglas DO? All these men were remarkable hero's. Men who stood up for things that were important to believe in. The question is what are you fighting for and is it as important as the struggles the the Hero's I have listed were willing to die for. You are a hero. Don't act like a street thug.
here is a Japanese warriors tale
Let me tell you a warriors tale of a great Samurai. He was told by his lord to Kill a man who was thief and enemy of his boss. The samurai set off to do his duty as a warrior sworn to obey his Lord. HE hunted the man for many days and nights. He found the man and did battle and brought the man to his knees.Just as he was about to cut his head off. the man in anger spit into the warriors face. The samurai then sheathed his sword and walked away allowing the man to live.
Why? Because If he had killed the man after he had spit on him he would have killed him in anger. It would have been a personal act of vengeance. Not a impersonal act.
If you allow people to push your buttons and react with emotion and anger then you are acting like a thug and a thief. If you Respond and do not allow people to push your buttons then you are acting like a warrior. Walk away a great fighter does not get into fights.

You should grow up some, you now live in Texas were it's legal to cary a side arm in plain site. If your in the hood mentality don't get you killed in the next six months you should get yourself a localized attitude and learn to addapt to your suroundings. by the way New York sux all big citys do it's the fact that all those people are packed into a small area.

Have pride, but don't beat up anyone because of it. It's going to make your transition even more tough.
If someone disses NY, make fun of TEXAS. Easy to do!

be mature and don't have an attitude. take things in stride and keep your temper and mouth under control and you'll be fine... you get more flies with honey than with vinegar.
