a walk in the park when the leaves start to fall to the ground, followed by a picnic near a river, and make sure to pack a blanket so that if they get cold you can stay close to them and not end the date early...

There are two ways to interpret your question...the fall the season or "the fall" as pertaining to when you fall in love.
The fall...the season is filled with romance. There is a drop of temperature so you need to cuddle, perhaps sit by the fire and light a candle because night falls sooner. There air is filled with the scent of apples and cinnamon and when we go out we are entranced by the colors of the trees which seem to parallel the brilliance of the world and the love in our heart.
In the fall or the falling into love...well everything is romantic...the way your heart skips a beat when the phone is for you, the way everything the object of you affection does is adorable...even it it's really not that amazing. That tingling feeling you get when they touch your hand or smile at you. The world seems more beautiful in that fall too.

There is nothing romantic about a fall. You can get hurt.

Camping is nice, but only for one evening. A girl's gotta' have a hot shower and blow dryer! :) Bonfires, hayrides, and picnics can also be romantic.

For me, it'd be a walk in the park where all the trees surrounding you are fall colors: red, orange, yellow, and brown.
