It would depend on the policies at your individual school, although most Athletic Codes (or the rules specifically applying to participation in sports or other extra-curricular activities) will carry a suspension of some sort if you are found or plead guilty to anything more serious than a traffic violation.

How long that suspension will be, again depends on your school, but most are based on a length of the season (such as 20 percent of scheduled contests), which means a football player would miss fewer games than say a volleyball player because of the difference in the length of their season.

A lot depends on the school system and when it occurred. I know where I grew up in upstate NY, as long as the probation officer agreed and the student did not actually get in trouble in school, he was still allowed to play.

Depends on the school. Some schools make the players sign a pledge that they'll stay out of trouble (even outside of school) because they are a reflection of the school.

He should still be able to play as long as he is not under any discipline from the school district.
