I was at school, drooling away in 7th grade. That was a good grade, though. I liked 7th grade.

On September the 11 2001 i was in the military station in Norfolk VA and i was on the USS Theodore Roosevelt. And we were watching CNN on TV and i saw the whole thing when the planes flew right into the twin towers. It was a very sad day for all involve. The bases were closed down and since i was on the ship i had to stay on board for three days. I was not allow to go home and see my babies. And right after that we had to go on cruise for 9 months so September 11 was a very sad day for all who lost love ones and also for us service members too.

On September 11. 2001 I was 18 years old, in school, and pregnant. The time was about 1045a.m. In a Giant grocery store getting lunch with my best friend as we were checking out the cashier said "did you here a plane hit the twin towers" I said no we raced back to school, the tv was on when we got back all day long we watched nobody did anything, one teacher was trying to get ahold of a friend for hours finally she got through. That day you go outside all you heard was planes and helicoptors overhead, no wonder I live between D.C. and New York. (York,PA) That was a very sad day I still tear up and get chills. I am thank full to all serviceman and to my very own veteran who himself after that day living on a base in Germany worked over a hundred hours in a week for weeks. I am thankful everyday he is now home with me. God bless

I was in the bathroom. My sister was crying and saying something that I couldn't understand, it wasn't until I got out that I saw what was happening on the tv screen. I was in shock, it was horrific yet i don't remember crying. What I do remember is a shot of panicked New Yorkers all awash in a blanket of Gray ash and concrete dust running away from that horrific event. This is the image that I carry in my mind when I think of September 11th 2001. It seemed so unreal and yet it is a reality that we shall never forget.

I was driving my car in Albuquerque, NM, taking a friend to work when the radio said that the first plane had hit one of the Twin Towers. By the time I got home and turned on the TV, I watched in shock as the second plane collided into the second tower. I was in total disbelief, stunned and horrified. It is so brutal and horrific! Those poor innocent people, and their loved ones. It is so tragic! It has affected all of us around the world.

It was early that day, I sat at my desk making preparations to run a get out the vote drive for our local mayor. My sister phoned to tell me that a plane had struck the World Trade Center. Shortly after we hung up she called back to say there was a second plane involved.

I was faced with the dilemma of what to do about our campaign. I decided to go forward with the get out the vote effort. Many people thanked us that day for reminding them that there were still things that had to be done even in the face of tragedy. Democracy still had to move forward or the terrorists would have won. It bothers me that the deaths of these innocent men and women have been exploited to systematically frighten the people of the United States into surrendering larger and larger portions of their civil rights.

at home in Texas, with my family, just getting the day started. I remember how , when I turned on the T.V., the first plane had just hit, and I like a lot of others, thought it was a trigic accident. But when the second one hit, it was such a sinking feeling. God Bless all the family members left behind, to carry on without their loved ones.
