What a great question...
Obviously not doggie style...but I really can't see a stegosauruses mating on their backs. Maybe when the females were in heat their spikey backs retracted...Thus allowing them to get it on!
If you're at a science museum, I would definately ask them about that...

Some believe that the scales along the back could fold down like a butterfly's wings. This would still prove dangerous. Perhaps the female of the species did not have these ornaments, and we have only found male specimens.

Verrrry carefully! Old porcupine joke. Actually, I think I remember reading that some biologists have speculated that for them (and most of the large dinos), the females would have to be on their backs.
