I was in a conversation with someone recently and i said "stay away from those hoodrats." From my statement, the person that i was talking to suddenly accuses me of being ghetto or a wannabe black. My question is, Is it common for American youth, particularly this generation to use slangs such as "front", "wifey", "hoodrat" and "homie" ? I'm asking this because it seems as if *insert race* uses these slangs, they're automatically considered wannbe-blacks.

I shop in ideas all of those, a million-10! They were so relaxing! i'm truly satisfied you requested this question. I watched all of them, no longer religiously, yet every time they were on. Rugrats replaced into my trendy practice! I loved CatDog and the means Puff ladies plenty too. i actually disliked Johnny Bravo, and on the time i did not like hiya Arnold very a lot, yet i imagine i might want to savour it more desirable now. i replaced into also a huge fan of the Scooby Doo and fully Spies! i'm no longer inspired in any respect with the exhibits on television today. I agree that Foster's homestead for Imaginary friends is a relaxing one (i recognize CHEESE!), many of the exhibits today are not sturdy.

it's common... i'm a high school substitute teacher in southern california and i hear it all the time. it also depends on the inflection and tone in your voice. that's when it's considered "wannabe".

I have 3 teen girls, and they all use these words. All three of my kids are of different nationalities and we live in small town Texas.

don't let it get to you. it's not that serious. if you use the slang naturally, meaning it's how you normally express yourself, don't worry what others think.
