i use vinegar myself but i don't think there is anything wrong with water. I agree whats the big deal the heat will kill the bacteria.

i've know some cultures to really make a fuss out of it and even call u nasty if u don't use lime to rinse your meat.

I rinse with vinegar but my guy does it with lime and vinegar. He does not feel the chicken is clean without lime. Yes the meat is being cooked but using vinegar/lime is also another way to curb some bacteria before cooking. Plus the lime actually does give the chicken a bit of flavor.n

If its fresh good meat, then I don't put anything on it unless I decide to marinate it. That lemon or lime or vinegar would give it a nice flavor but would probably mess with browning it nicely. Same for salt. If its been in the fridge for a few days, then I would rinse it first.

no longer some time past, study got here out that mentioned you will desire to no longer wash your hen earlier using it. You run a much bigger threat of by coincidence contaminating kitchen surfaces by rinsing the hen and splashing around. Washing your hands and utensils and counter tops in a while is the biggest thank you to ward off getting ill. Use paper towels for cleansing and hand drying. it is safer than using a kitchen towel.

I rinse meat with salt.

It just kills the bacteria (vinegar, salt, ect..) and it's a method of "deeper" cleansing.

So if it works for you, do it!

I've never used anything but water but if there was any bacteria left it would be destroyed by the heat of your cooking.
