Ok, the question above is obviously what I'm talking about. One of the factors in allot of peoples advice that I should go to England instead of Italy was because I had already been to Italy. The thing is I only got to spend 3 days in Italy, so I didn't really get to experience......so, do you still stand by your answer?

Thanks for all the advice by the way!

It has been 40 yrs but I had a lot of good time in Italy... and did not speak enough to understand anything... I was in the navy and found out quickly to get away from the big cities... I would get on a bus and go untill the ticket ran out... I found myself in many small towns and had no idea where I was... the people I met were alway friendly and helpful. I got invited into many home for meals or snacks and visiting...Of course I was in uniform and most had never seen a US Sailor up close.. But I found that no matter where I was or what country...if I was polite and respectful of them most all people were very friendly.... with the exception of the arab/muslim countries... I did in spain as I did in Italy and had the same results... met lots of nice people..... of course I know today the politics are much different... but I think people are still the same... treat them as you would want to be treated and you will get along...I spent the summer after I got out of the Navy in Israel... same there... I was invited to stay and work there...wish I had now... in fact I met a girl from Liverpool there...wish had stayed just for her... would kind of like to go to Liverpool and see if could find her.. nothing serious of course...just courious...

I would go to Italy because I am a Sicilian. :D But from either country you could do a lot of traveling. The public trans. sytem in Europe rocks! One person said to go to Germany as it is centrally located and you can get just about anywhere in 12 hours. I would have to agree with them, but Germany wasn't an option. I have been to Germany for about 5 years, and would love to go back.
