Have 11 eggs, 4 collapsed today, took them out. They have been incubating since July 1st when the mama layed the eggs. Dug up, put in plastic container with vermiculite and peat moss. Keeping temp @ 85-87 degrees with heat lamp in tank, but lost power last week and temp went down to 72 degrees for 6 hours. Any input. Will eggs be ok. Have not touched the eggs since putting them in the container. Mist with water, followed all instructions I could find. Now just waiting to see if they will hatch. Last litter was 9 eggs with 4 hatching (which was a good ratio) Any tips or advise would be greatly appreciated. Mama was killed month ago by neighbors dog (got out of yard and bit shell) so no other turtles in pond will be mature for another 2 years to lay eggs. Really want to hatch the last offspring of mama turtle. Please advise and help greatly needed and wanted. FYI - Dog owners were greatly apologetic, but life goes on.....

sounds like you are doing everything right, good luck
why don't you leave the eggs where they were laid?
I used to collect my eggs and try to incubate but now
I just leave them alone and they do just fine
