Richmond and Chinatown .. ask any cab driver and they can take you to these places.

However, if you really want to get a feel for Vancouver, and since you are coming all this way, you should do so ... go to Stanley Park, the Capilano Suspension Bridge, Granville Island, one or more of the many museums and art galleries, the aquarium, take a harbour tour, see gastown.

Richmond has a large number of shopping mall, same style as in Wanchai: Aberdeen, Parker Place, Yaohan. These are all along No 3 Road and Cambie Rd. There are many more along No 3 Road and the smaller streets (Capstan, Alderbridge)

Famous restaurant (some HK based):
Float Seafood
Kirin
Sun Sui Wah
Red Star (Hong Sing)
#9 Restaurant
Mak Noodle (Mak Mung Gay)

Not too many big name HK shops left, because Mr Fairchild renovated Aberdeen and kicked everone out, but very few returned

But many HK people have already left, and lots of Mainland Chinese have come to Richmond, so about 50% (maybe more) people speak Mandarin, not Cantonese.

I'd avoid Chinatown, because its like the slumier parts of HK, but with drug addicts, random violence. Recommend going only during the day.

They used to be clustered in Chinatown, around the Pender and Main street area, but now they are all over Vancouver. Richmond, a suburb of Vancouver, has a completely Chinese mall, which even has a night market. That should probably be on your list of places to go.
But while you're in Vancouver, why look for things that are the same as you have back home? There is so much that is special and unique. Plan a trip to Lynn Canyon, in North Vancouver, and walk over the swinging bridge and take the tree top walk. Visit Granville Island and ride the little ferry boats. See the Maritime Museum and the Planetarium. Walk through Gas Town or up to Little India in the Main and 45th Avenue area. There are so many great spots to visit. There is a website at HelloBC.com that can list dozens of activities for you.
Hope you enjoy your stay!

the famous HK shops and restaurants are in Richmond and then of course chinatown in Vancouver. I would think if you were a tourist in Vancouver you would want to see the tourist sites, such as stanley park, whistler, capilano suspension bridge, granville island, etc.
