It isn't a question as to whether or not global warming exists, because without it this planet would be uninhabitable. The question is, is man exacerbating the situation? In the 70's experts were saying that the earth was going to go through another ice age. Hmmmm....I guess that didn't happen. Right now we don't know enough about the weather to predict impending doom. Another problem is that all the people running around saying the sky is falling and we should take drastic measures to insure this doesn't happen are being taken FAR more seriously than necessary. Get the politics out of it and maybe we will finally know if it is really true.

Global Warming isn't a belief system, like, say astrology. Come to think of it, it is! And just like astrology, when something contrary comes to light, the skeptics are chided for not believing and the so-called causes are adjusted to account for observation.
That's not how science is supposed to work. If the data is there, and the cause and effect can be shown, and testing to failure (called "falsifiability") leads to conclusions then the conclusions are accepted until one or more follow-up steps leads to new conclusions.
In the case of Global Warming, the belief was in place and the data was selected to correspond to the pre-decided outcome. That's why Bush, and some Republicans, as well as some Democrats and plenty of responsible scientists don't accept the conclusions. They weren't concluded at all. Here are some useful sites to get the facts.

Because no one has proved that to be a fact; that's why.
-- And IF it is happening, it has not been proven that it is caused by man and is not nature. The planet has in eras before us gone through changes. Recall the ice age?
When I was in elementary school the thinking then was that we would experience global cooling and that the next ice age was just around the corner. I believed it at the time! Where is the Ice Age???!!!!! Now its global warming? I was told we would all be living in glass bubbles around our house to keep out the pollution too. Where are the bubbles? I am told now the water in the streams are the cleanest they have ever been prior to the industrial revolution. What about that?
Our star is middle-aged -- not a spring chicken in galactic terms -- and is entering the red giant stage. Maybe that is the reason why some say that there is a .000000000000000000000001 degree diff between the temp in 1906 and 2006!

A dispute over whether global warming is really happening may have been caused by the placement of sensors on weather balloons when studies were done in the 1970s, researchers said on Thursday.
Very few scientists now dispute that the Earth's temperature is rising and that this is caused by human activity, including burning fossil fuels such as coal and oil.

Global Warming is not the threat that the media portrays it to be. Over the course of the twentieth century the average rise in temperature was less than one degree.
Weather patterns follow a cycle of about 500-750 years. The last major warming period was during the medieval period. That period was very prosperous thanks to longer growing and hunting seasons. During the middle ages a cooling trend began that lasted until the mid 19th century. We are simply in the midst of a normal pattern of warming. There is no evidence that the effects of modern life have contributed to extra warming.

Contrary to what Al Gore tells you there are real, acclaimed scientists that believe that although we did go through a period of global warming that it may just be natural.

Additionally, this is a pretty complex issue. Did you know that several countries including Canada sued us when we tried to pass cleaner laws, because we stopped buying their stuff. Britain & France filed grievences with the WTO. It's very much to do with the Economy and while blaming the US is quite the past time, it's everyone.

because nobody has proven that what we have done has an effect on global warming.
thousands of years ago, before cars or factories, the temperature also rose to the point at which the ice caps melted and brought on the first major ice age.
global warming levels cycle throughout history and there just isnt any proof that we are responsible for recent increases.

The "info" of worldwide warming are extra like evaluations. this is an extremely standard opinion, yet no longer without this is medical detractors. worldwide warming isn't as decrease and dried because of the fact the media and others could have us have self assurance. Google it! in actuality, the medical community is extra divided than stated. worldwide warming is extra politically standard than scientifically. this is getting used to push a jealous worldwide coverage upon US voters. i'm stunned that extra government officers are no longer able to think of for themselves. Our planet has warmed and cooled many cases over many thousands of years. Now ought to we argue approximately human beings inflicting a number of it? I agree we ought to discover the thank you to diminish our result on the earth, yet no longer on the fee human beings freedoms and liberties. those subject concerns can co-exist collectively.

What about that big Suburban that Kerry owns??
Global Warming is a crock for the most part. We have had periods of global warnings and coolings for 100's of thousands of years. Why do you think there are no more glaciers in Wisconsin?? Was it the smoke from caveman campfires?

There has only been an increase of 0.6 degrees in 100 years, and there is no proof that it wouldnt happen anyway.
This planets climate has changed much, and will continue to do so.
We are overdue for another ice age, better enjoy the warm weather while you can!
