The man was a genius! Haven't heard of him? Hello, Queen? We will rock you!--for those newbies out there.
P.S it drives me nuts when people post a question and get 5 responses that don't answer anything!!!

Freddy Mercury was one of the biggest icons of his time. Very flamboyant, full of life, his songs held alot of meaning..especially Who Wants To Live Forever and Hammer To Fall. Since his death in 1992 it just hasnt been the same. Ive heard so many revamps of We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions that it makes me sick. Give me the originals! His raw singing power just cant be beaten.

Freaking, maybe. Cool, I don't know about that one. But the group Queen was the most educated musical group of the time. If I remember correctly they all had a PhD.

I am not a fan of Queen, but of course he was cool.
What a tragedy his talent was snuffed out.
