Bush ought not spread his "democracy" anywhere. We are a people under surveillance, bogged down by laws. We need Libertarianism and true freedom.

The question on Cuba is easy: because we have not historically supported a democracy in Cuba, Our policy was to support any dictator and the people under him bedamned as long as it served the interests of the United States. Which is why we ran a foul of Fidel : We were on the side of the former dictator of Cuba when Fidel an his insurgents decided to overthrow that despy. When it became clear that the govt of Batista was losing the fight - the united States tried to switch sides and Fidel wasnt buying it. So our relationship has been a rocky one with Fidel.for that reason. He saw how fickle we were and being of sound mind he doesnt trust us.
And if you want some insight on events leading up to the plot to invade Iraq then read Tony Blairs formerly secret memos by doing a search on Blair and memos. His communications with Bush are there also.

I think you are right on with the oil thing!!!
BUT....
I just saw on the news a few days ago that there possibly is a very large oil reserve off the northern coast of Cuba (but in their waters). If oil is actually found there, just watch how fast the US embargo against Cuba ends.

If he could make any money off of Cuba he would invade in a Dead Eye Dick Cheney heart beat. But he is invested in oil and that is why we invaded Iraq.

You infer that we are in Iraq for oil. So I ask, if that's the case, why isn't the cost of gas $0.50 per gallon in the US?
