9/11 - Gold - NYPD - FDNY - Ground Zero & which is more important people or money ?

In England we've be swapped with different 9/11 documentaries! The widows and 7 billion paid out by the US government to avoid an avalanche of lawsuits ; about the the 9/11 liars who took advantage of the situation to change their lives etc., but what I'm not hearing about is the big argument that ensued between the NYPD and the FDNY - how the police over there stopped the fireman getting to the bodies of their collegues and civilians until the police had recovered the gold from the underground vaults there - this to me seems far more relevant.

Can anyone shed more light on this? As far as I'm concerned - this is the REAL issue - the kind that goes to the very heart of what is wrong in America today and probably here in the UK aswell. Namely - MONEY BEFORE LIFE! Can we really blame the terrorists in they're attitude to the West when so called civilised people in a position of authority behave like this!

I've not heard a dicky-bird about this since it was reported live on the news !

The media on this thorny subject have been conspicous by their absence of mentioning anything about this here in the UK or America since I first heard it mentioned in the live news coverage when it was actually happening - why?

Is there a larger story about this gold we are not being told about ?

Is this just the police putting money before life - or is this part of the 'inside job' theory we keep hearing about?

Either way it needs exposing fully - because if protecting a load of gold is still more important than thousands of peoples lives, then as heinous it may be to suggest it - maybe the terrorists had the right idea !

Thousands of people died and many of them could have been saved, including some of the rescuers, had it not been for the importance of precious gold over the importance of sellable lives. Since that date, nothing more has been said about the gold yet the US government quickly paid the many widows and widowers a sum of over 7 billion dollars. This fund was enacted and carried out quicker than any other relief fund prior to and since 9/11 to any other victims of any other disaster in US history. Was this a ploy by the US government to cover up the fact that many more lives could have been saved had it not been for the interference by the NYPD to retrieve gold before rescueing innocent lives.

The only thing I heard about this - was as I said - when it was happening, live on the tv news with some live commentary over images of ground zero - and that is it - apart from that - nothing - nada - no documentaries - not indepth analysis by news programmes - why - why are they covering this up - embarrassment ? Where was this gold transported to ? Who did it belong too ? I want to know everthing about it. Who gave the order to get it out first and why ? Does anyone know ? - To me - it is as obscene as the people who rammed the aircraft into those two skyscrapers !!!

Have heard through some documentary makers over here that Kevin Spacey may have touched on it in some documentary over there about rebuilding America or something - does anyone know about this and how he may be connected to the whole issue ?

Some of you are saying it is untrue - well I clearly remember it being broadcast on the news as it was happening - there was an argument between the two emergencies departments and I have also had this backed up by another source over here in the UK; by the company that made the documentary The Miracle on stairway B - they had heard something about it; so was this whole saga hushed up - and even if the report is wroing and they didn't have a row - was the part about the gold being there in the first place true and if so what happened to it after the attack had happened ?

Government controlled Media Censorship - "The Path to 9/11", a two-part mini-series is being altered due to some former members of the Clinton Administration. Even though the mini-series was marked as being 'fictional' [in the same way as the Dan Brown novels], ABC is still revising those parts that were considered to be "factual errors and lies". So even after this show airs, Sunday 9/10 and Monday 9/11, the viewers will not know what "factual 'errors' and lies" were edited.

Unless you were one of the few that sat at home and recorded the incident and everything that was being said on the day of 9/11/01, then no one will ever know or properly remember everything. I personally remember hearing that the rescue services were having troubles communicating, but I only heard this the day AFTER the tragedy and it was during a broadcast, not live. I also remember hearing something about gold, but again, I only heard this a couple of days AFTER the tragedy. Honestly, the one thing I remember most is how quiet the skys were without airplanes (I live very near an international airport).

My brother, an employee for Morgan, Stanley, Chase, at the time of the attacks, stated that not a single employee of that company, being a major world-wide financial consulting firm, were at work that day in the World Trade Center Towers. He also stated that all of the computer data had already been backed up onto servers at a different location the day before America was brought to its knees.

As for the financial gains that the victims' famlies received, I, as an American, do know that it was both the largest and the quickest payout that has ever happened in US history. For those that do not know, there are still hurricane Katrina victims whining about not having received anything from the government, over a year after the disaster, and US veterans of wars that have not received all of their monies and / or medical pensions as of yet.

I may not agree with Ann Coulter, a syndicated columnist and reporter for Fox News, or her methods of getting her points of view across, but I do agree that those widows that made millions of dollars off of their husbands deaths did not deserve all of that money since their husbands would not have made that much money had they not died in the towers.

Why was the government so quick and eager to pay these people over the thousands of other people that have suffered so much throughout the history of the United States? Maybe it was hush money so that no one would file a lawsuit which would begin an investigation into the tragedy of that fatal day. Unless someone does some real research and does not alter any of the "factual errors and lies", no one will ever truly know.

I've not heard of this. I have heard that during the event, the radios the police had inside were able to still communicate with the outside whereas the fire radios were not. The police got the order to evacuate; the fire people didn't. The police tried to tell the fire people that they were told to get out, but old rivalries got in the way, and the fire people didn't believe the police and stayed--and died. That's a tragedy.

I'm not personally aware of any gold that was in the world trade center buildings.

However, the collapse did cause the credit union serving government employees (including FDNY and NYPD) to be unable to track ATM transactions made by their customers. This was quickly realized by customers and thousands of people withdrew thousands of dollars, which they did not possess, from ATMs. It's sad to see people taking advantage of one of the effects of the attack.

The topic is very sad and outraging, but NOTHING justifies a terrorist! I am becoming so confused about who what and when because this damn war stuff is going on way too long and the only best thing would be for everyone to stop fighting, but what are the chances of that.

the story you heard is merely fabricated rubbish. apart from, so you might even advise that,"perhaps the terrorists have been precise" ... i'd say that it extremely is a shame which you weren't a form of folk contained in the towers who perished on the time of this tragedy.

What is with society today?! All they care about is MONEY, MONEY and MONEY! Peoples lives were at stkae and then they expect us to honor them for putting money first! I hate America's outlook on money.
