Scammers are getting very tricky. Be careful on the Internet and on the phone.
1) Never give out your social security number out to anyone. Do not even give out the last 4 numbers.
2) Never give out your mothers maiden name to anyone.
3) Find out what "Phishing" is and be careful.
4) Only download programs you know are safe. I know it is a hassle, but you can learn to speed read Eula's. I only download web "free" programs that "Kim Komando" recommends. She has examined them for fraud, spyware and adware. Her advise is excellent.
5) Never, ever send anyone money you have met on the Internet. This should be your "golden rule". don't agree to accept money, money orders or etc from anyone on the Internet.

I could keep going but if you are in doubt follow that feeling and don't do it. If it feels like a scam it probably is. The Internet is like the Wild West. Pretty much anything goes, learn how to protect yourself.
