I think they are apples and oranges. I think people no longer have a true definition of Love, yet Hate is perfectly defined.
Love is holding the welfare of something or someone above our own. Hate is a byproduct of fear with a possible solution festering and rotting the soul into a state of psychosis.
GOD bless ya.

I think there is a very thick line between love and hate. You can partially love someone, just like you can partially hate someone. No one can live in absolute hatred or absolute love. There is almost always a middle, a forgiving ground.
And yes, a hater can love, because they may love someone besides the one or two people that they hate. And lovers at heart can still hate. Like I said, you can't deal with absolutes.

Yes, there is a very thin line as love and hate are very closely linked. Many people think they are opposites, but they are not.
Hate is a very powerful emotion as is love. The opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference.

You hear that a lot because it sounds so right, but it's way off. Love is a functional, outward transmission of emotion while hate, though seemingly directed at a person or group, is really an internal disfunction. Not close at all.

absolutely. love and hate are both strong emotions, so it's not really true that the opposite of love is hate. the opposite of love is apathy. there is a thin line between feeling strongly about someone, either positively or negatively.

Not really. I think the thin line is between honest truth and brutally honest. What makes you cross that line? You'll never know until you're pushed in front of it.

Images of innocence charge him go on
But the decadence of destiny is looking for a pawn
To a nightmare of knowledge he opens up the gate
And a blinding revelation is laid upon his plate
That beneath the greatest love is a hurricane of hate
And God help the critic of the dawn.

Absolutely. They are not opposite. In both love and hate there are intense emotions whereas the opposite is true in indifference, the absence of emotion and, hence, the opposite of both.

there is a huge field of apathy between the two, I believe that love and hate are both the extremeties, so as far as intensity of emotion I think they are the same, but opposite.
