Do former actors on long running shows still get credited if old footage from an older season is shown (eg dream sequence using old footage of an actor who was killed off)?

Yup. On IMDB, it'll usually be listed as "archive footage". In contracts, I believe they would get some royalties when such shows aired.

On the show's credits, the name would be listed if that person was an active character during that time. When the new season starts and the actor is no longer in the show, then his/her name is off the credits. The actor does still get credit on their portfolio and can use the series as part of their acting experience.
