Study hard, do your homework, and pay attention in class. Getting A's and B's isn't that hard. You can do it. ^_^

I taught for many years and I found that the secret the best students had was doing their best every day. It's much easier to get good grades if you do each lesson as it's presented; never put off assignments; don't let yourself get behind and have to cram. If you build your education day by day in the same way a house is constructed with a good foundation; not leaving out any parts; checking over the work each day to make sure it's been done correctly; and always with your eye on the finished product being the best it can possibly be, you won't be sorry! I wish you all the luck in the world. I wish more students had a worthwhile goal.

You have to get A 's for UCLA, AND you have to show good involvement in community service, extra-curricular activites, or something related to your planned major. That will give you the competitive edge you'll need.
You'll have to deal with the very competitive environment at school, so keep away from any negative elements there. I hope you have a supportive family who will try to help you out with the extracurricular side of things. Having someone drive you everywhere is a big help. Good luck.

1. Study for 20-30min for all your core classes.
2. Dont sleep in class, actually pay attention.
3. If you dont understand anything, go to tutorial sessions.
4. Dont wait till the last minute to study for a major test or finish a project.

If you want to be accepted to UCLA, dont only focus on academics. Volunteer and join organizations.

Well, make sure you study hard. And don't procrastinate on your school work, as you are likely to get lower grades on it if you have to rush. Take notes in class and actively participate. Get help from the teacher, whenever you need it. Do all of your homework on time. You must meet the deadlines.

Honestly, all you have to do is pay attention and put some effort into your work. Whatever you do don't be absent, not even for a day.

Also: keep in mind that High School really isn't all that important. Don't get too stressed out about your grades and enjoy your four years.

work hard. study hard. give it all you've got. the effort thing, you know? persistence. most important is the enthusiasm for learning. don't try to get good grades for the sake of getting good grades. try and learn something while you're at it. some kids these days only care about the A+ on their paper rather than what they're getting out of it. that kind of defeats the purpose of an education.

so...work hard to LEARN. that's what getting an education is all about.

haha, I played video games and did absolutley nothing and I got mostly A's a few B's but that did hurt me in college. I think learning to work hard is more inporatnt then getting certain grades in HS.
anyways good luck.

Hey, I live near you! I'm in the number one high school and a freshman =P Yeah, I just had to brag. Just work hard and do your absolute best. Oh, and don't procrastinate! Procrastination will be your downfall. xD

Do your homework. Study for tests. Don't do classes that are too difficult for you (stick to the level you are): if you are really good in math for example, do honors or AP math, and so on and so forth.
