There have been so many versions of them over the years in the comics. It really depends which ones they use. But I would have to say that Sandman would be the winner as he can become nothing but sand, where as there is a human in the middle of what is Venom (according to the comics that is, who knows what the movie Venom will be like.) Also, Venom has a weakness to ultrasonics and fire, where Sandman could be turned to glass if the fire was too hot but Venom could not be around for that. Finally if the person inside Venom was smarter then the Sandman then that could play as a factor as Sandman is not that smart (how else do you think Spidey beats him so much in the Comics!)

i'LL GO WITH SANDMAN! Hopefully they don't make him a total dope like in the early comics.....How do you defeat a person who has no definate body. Plus Id think that sandman could be taken a bite out of by Venom--and still keep fighting
