I am a senior that is into a lot of things that most aren't into. (Magic the gathering cards, skateboarding, art, ag., and fantasy fiction things. etc...) I am slightly over weight, but I don't think I look completely bad... I just wonder whether guys would like to see a girl that is skinnier than fat or whether it is because I'm not into the things most girls are into.

I'm having a little of that problem now. I bet the weight isn't as big a factor as you think. The fact that YOU think you are overweight affects your self-esteem and confidence. That makes more of a difference than your weight.
If you want to lose a little, do it in a safe way because you want to lose a little.
And you don't have to be into the things that other girls are into. Guys look for girls that are into the same things they are. So look for guys that are into that stuff (see if there is a D&D group you can get into)>

First of all, be happy with yourself, and who you are. If you're not happy with yourself first, then it will be very difficult to for you to be being with someone else. You have your whole life ahead of you and plenty of time to find your special someone. You don't say whether you are a senior in high school or college, but at either age guys can tend to be immature and a bit shallow (same goes for girls too) As you get a bit older, it will matter less and less whether or not you have a few extra pounds (almost everyone gains weight as they get older) but it will matter more whether or not you are an intelligent person who has interesting things to say. You have interests that are a more common for guys to have than girls. (You cannot imagine how many times I've heard "You play Magic? But you're a girl!") That can be a very good thing. After all, how many guys want to talk about hair care products and boy bands? You may want to find out if there is a trading card store, or hobby shop in you area that participates in Friday Night Magic. It is a weekly mini-tournament sponsored by Wizards of the Coast (see link below) and that could be an excellent way for you to meet new people. Just be happy with who you are, and everything will work out fine.

First off if you are happy with the way you are then don't change for ANYBODY. There are guys out there who will like and appreciate you for you. However, if you are not happy with the way you look or have bad self esteem that shows to guys. And if you don't have a boyfriend it's probably not because of the way you look or the things you like. You have to like you for you before anybody else will like you for who you are. So maybe you should just focus on being you and not on having a boyfriend. Because you know what they say love comes when you least expect it. Good luck. And BE HAPPY WITH YOU FIRST!

I'm a large girl and I thought the same things when I was that age. Once you get out of high school dating is SO on! I have dates all the time, and these guys are actually hot! So don't get down on yourself. Besides, guys love girls who are artsy. The older guys are into girls who actually have a personality and can hold conversation.

Honey, I'm a tad overweight too, and i don't think that that is the problem. If you have a good personality then that's all that counts. I'm firm in believing that everyone has a somebody in this world :). You'll find someone don't worry. Who knows the minute you stop worrying you'll find someone.

you are fine the way you are...sometimes dating and love comes to us when we least expect it to...i to didn't date much in high school and was very shy...but don't beat your self up over it...the guys are not very mature at that age...i know it gets lonely when you see others your age dating....but all good things come to those who wait...self respect means a who lot..and i think you have that...take care and enjoy your senior year....

It's probably a little of both. If you change anything about yourself then do it for yourself and not others. You want someone that appreciates you for who you are.....

I think it could be both, I know that was my problem. Overweight and shy didn't make me to popular kind of a loner.
