its an Alicia Keys song, inspired by a Mya Angelou book (i think)
but its basically about a woman (Alicia herself probably) who felt trapped her whole life (caged bird) and the only way she could feel anything positve was if she sang
music just brought her joy! nothing else could lift her spirits while she was in her prison
i feel the same - except i dont sing - when i do it does not sound very good :) but i LISTEN to lost of music
thats what sooths my soul, feeling the music flow through me, knowing that the person who wrote these lyrics and the person who put the lyrics to music, they know me, how else could they write a song that describes exactly how i feel at that moment
music is life sustaining - i am a music lover
