NO-NO-NO-NO-NO!!!! (repeat until page is full!!!!!) There is NO KNOWN "SAFE" LEVEL OF TOLERANCE OF A FETUS TO ALCOHOL...end of story! Some MAY...if you're LUCKY...be okay...the rest will be MESSED UP!
YOu might be TOLD: "just some is okay" but THEY DON'T KNOW!!! Not even doctors do. Why risk it?! If you cared enough for this child not to abort it (lemme guess, you are having this kid because "life is sacred"), then don't BURDEN It with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome!!! MY WORD! Are people STILL so uninformed??? THERE IS NO SAFE LEVEL, just like radiation!!!!
To quote the Center For Disease Control (you know, those people we always run to when we're afraid of Lyme disease or getting Simian Immunovirus from monkies???):
"Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders
When a pregnant woman drinks alcohol, so does her unborn baby. There is no known safe amount of alcohol to drink while pregnant and there also does not appear to be a safe time to drink during pregnancy either. Therefore, it is recommended that women abstain from drinking alcohol at any time during pregnancy. Women who are sexually active and do not use effective birth control should also refrain from drinking because they could become pregnant and not know for several weeks or more."

By the way, Sept. 9 is FAS day! Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Day. How fitting.
Make no mistake. ALCOHOL IS A DRUG...one of the most powerful, addictive drugs known. They say that getting off it is worse than heroin withdrawal. I believe it...or hundreds of thousands of people would now be SOBER and NOT asking the question above!!!!
Please...think of your CHILD!
P.S.: About doctors knowing ANYTHING??? Most don't know JACK! SO get on the 'net and find out for yourself!

I would say no. I do not trust any OB when it comes to things like this. I had an OB tell me to go on a no carb diet. I gain a lot of weight during pregnancy no matter what I do. He told me to go on Atkins. Well, going into a state of ketosis can kill the fetus. Nice advice from an OB dontcha think? Now they're telling mom's not to eat lunch meat and soft cheeses. Why would that be wrong but wine okay? Does that make sense? I agree with the person who said you need to remember that what you're putting in your system goes directly to your baby. Would you give your infant or toddler a glass of wine? Then why would you drink it while pregnant?

NO IT IS NOT OKAY! My mom is a OB/GYN doctor and said it is never okay to drink anything alcohol in it while pregnant or you risk fatal alcohol syndrome and to the person who said gweneth paltrow drank a glass of whine a day my mother said she should of had that kid snatched from her after she had it because what she did was reckless and her baby could of really suffered for her carelessness and stupidity.
My mom had a patient who drank two glasses of whine at a wedding and her son was born with fetal alcohol syndrome because of it. Her OB/GYN before my mother said it was fine to have some whine and boy was he wrong and she did end up suing his a$$.

Not quite sure that drinking any alcohol during pregnancy can be considered good for the unborn child. However, a glass of wine occasionally if you are not considered high risk by your doctor is not necessarily bad.

Actually my OB/GYN told me that a glass of alcohol is ok once in a while, but I never wanted to take that risk. I know a guy that is 23 now and he has to live in an adult group home because he cannot take care of himself. His real mom was an alcoholic and she drank while pregnant. It is really not worth the risk.

Some Doctors say OK - some say NO - Please ask your Doctor if it is OK for you because every single case is different. There could be reasons that you shouldn't have a glass of wine because of some medical complications or some family medical history etc... so always ask your Doctor -He or She would know better than anyone on yahoo - because we do not know any background info on you or your pregnancy - or any Medical concerns in your family.

But if you're not a mormon it's ok to drink a four ounce glass of wine several vtimes a week. Toward the end of your pregnancy, switch to beer. It helps produce milk! But don't over do it!!
