Freestyling is a plus..my fiance' is a rapper and he does it.I guess if you have some frest sh!t though..you can go for that..a lot of singers and artists do it.

It is not a must, it is a big plus however. I do some rap/metal stuff at home and with 4-5 of my friends in band...freestyle is not needed to hit it big. Has anyone ever recorded an album including only freestyling? Nope, didn't think so.

not really it just kind of gets you more respect as an emcee. there are plenty of rappers who cant freestyle..but then again there rap careers are horrible...like silk the socker he just sucks all around but take diddy for example most of his songs where ghost written.. i think of it like this a song is just a freestyle you took the time to write to down. it just so happens to be a plus that i can freestyle

no. it's just icing on the cake. guru from gang starr can't freestyle and nobody would ever say he's not a real rapper

nah freestyle is just a form of rap for people who have the talent it doesn t knock ur skills it s just a different way of rappin
